Obituary of Laurentia Caza

Laurentia (nee Gouin) Caza was born in Tecumseh, Ontario on September 15, 1926 to Raymond and Bertha (Denome) Gouin. Due to health issues of Laurentia’s mother, she had to quit school to take care of her seven younger siblings.

She married the love of her life Norman Caza on August 26, 1944. Norman and Laurentia moved to Saskatchewan after a few years of marriage, they spent 63 years together raising 16 children in rural Saskatchewan.  Laurentia’s greatest love in life was raising her children, and later years spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family was everything to her.

Laurentia was a very fun loving women who also had a great love for music. In her final years she resided at St. Paul Lutheran Care Home in Melville where she passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026 at the age of 99 years.

Her favorite things she enjoyed doing was making meals for her family, the more people the better. Laurentia also loved music (country or gospel).

Predeceased by her parents Raymond and Bertha Gouin, Son Patrick, Daughters Barbara Maygard, Helen Wall, Sons-in-law Harvey, Lorne, Ralph, Walter, Rick and Larry; Brothers and sisters-in-law Lawrence (Bella), Norman (Rita), Louis, Raymond; Sisters and brothers-in-law Flora (Miron), Helen (William), Edna (Victor).

Laurentia leaves to cherish her memory her Sons Norman and Phillip (Alison); her Daughters  Norma (Paul) Rousseaux, Star Deobald, Iris (Don) Powers, Jeannie Haytema, Theresa Yanch, Laura Punwasie, Katherine (Jack) Fostey, Edna (Mike) Roseler, Gwendolyn (Andrew) Lafontaine, Lissa Lalonde and Tammy (John) Kuepper; Sisters-in-law Linda Drouillard and Jannine Gouin.  As well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and great great great grandchildren.

Laurentia will be greatly missed by all her family and all who knew her.
