Obituary of Helen Lillian Arndt

ARNDT - Mrs. Helen Lillian Arndt, formerly Helen Bulycz, resident of Coronach, Saskatchewan, formerly of Ituna and Fort Qu'Appelle, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2005 at the Coronach and District Health Centre. She was 81 years of age. Helen was born on January 17, 1924 in the Goodeve district of Saskatchewan; a daughter of Sam and Annie (nee Klepachek) Zawitkoski. She attended school in Goodeve and later worked as an egg candler in Ituna, where she met and married Mike Bulycz on May 8, 1945. The couple farmed until 1948, when they purchased a garage and moved into Ituna. In 1954, the couple moved to Kelliher to manage the Kelliher Hotel, but returned to farming in the Ituna district in 1959. Helen began working for Sametz Pharmacy in Ituna, and was a loyal employee for over 25 years, retiring in 1998. Mike predeceased Helen in 1985. In September of 1998 Helen was united in marriage to Eric Arndt, the couple resided in Fort Qu'Appelle. Following the death of Eric in 2003 Helen moved to Coronach, Saskatchewan to be closer to her daughter Frances. Helen was also predeceased by her parents Sam and Annie; and a brother Stan Zawitkoski. She is survived by her daughter: Frances Olson of Coronach; grandchildren: Tara (Lance) Eger and their children MacKenzie and Kade of Coronach, Jamie Olson of Brandon MB, Arlen Olson (special friend Amber Hanson) of Brooks AB; her brother John Zawitkoski; stepdaughter: Judy (Ron) Galenzoski of Southey and their children Keith (Indira) Galenzoski, Dana and Hanna of Winnipeg; Darlene (Rob) Yeo, Austin and Kayla of Calgary; Doreen (Rick) Lesko, Rhys and Colby of Regina; sister-in-law Anne Zawitkoski and nieces Marlene (Ken) Morrison of Calgary and Glenda (David) Halter of Saskatoon and families. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, May 5, 2005 from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church in Coronach. Father Andrew Pawlowski officiated. Ken Morrison, accompanied by his wife Marlene on the organ, led in the singing of the hymns Amazing Grace, Prayer of St. Francis, May the Angels, a Parable, and Ave Marie. Altar-servers were Christopher, Justin and Kaitlyn Noll. The lay-readers were Bernice Foley and Lavinia Dionne. The interment took place in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery in Ituna with Arlen Olson, Lance Eger, David Halter, Keith Galenzoski, Ken Morrison and Rick Lesko serving as the casketbearers.
