Obituary of Annie Vina Brazeau

BRAZEAU - Annie Vina Brazeau, of Yorkton passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. She was 71 years of age. Annie was born January 12, 1934 at Boggy Creek, Manitoba; a daughter of Alfred Patrick and Cecil Langan. The family moved to Crescent Lake in 1946. She attended Allary School. Annie was married to Harry Joseph Brazeau from 1951 until they separated in 1965. She moved to Yorkton to raise her family, residing with her parents. She enjoyed family visits; was a good cook and great bread and bannock maker, enjoyed Bingo, playing cards, watching TV, and social outings. She was also a good singer, appearing on the radio as a guest artist. Annie was given the opportunity to travel to Nashville, Tennessee to further her singing career, but chose to stay home to care for her family. Annie was a member of the Friendship Centre; the CO-OP Metis Farm and the Metis Nation. Annie struggled with health problems for most of her life, and had been hospitalized since February 15th. Predeceased by her parents, sons Edward, Hanky and Earl, and daughter Brenda. She leaves to cherish her memory, sons: Kelly Brazeau of Yorkton, Stewart Brazeau of Saskatoon, Randy Brazeau of Yorkton, Allan Gall of Winnipeg and Fred Gall of Yorkton; daughter Eva Brazeau of Yorkton. Twenty-three grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren; as well as numerous god-children; brothers Phillip and Claude Langan; and sister Laura Coates; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and her many other relatives and friends. Annie was always saying to her family to tell the truth and to be honest always. A prayer service was held on Friday evening, February 25, 2005 from the Chapel of Bailey's Funeral Home. Ricky Flamont officiated.The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, February 26, 2005 from St. Gerard's RC Church in Yorkton with Father Basil Chomos celebrant. The interment took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Patrick Lafontaine, Clayton Langan, Kelley Sinclair, Cecilia Brazeau, Shawn Freeman and Dallas Langan serving as the casketbearers.
