Rosemarie Hoedel

November 5, 1938 - March 18, 2024

Rosemarie Appel was born on November 5, 1938 to George and Mary (nee Exner) Appel.  She was the second oldest of 9 children and was raised on a farm north of Grayson. She was married to Alfred Hoedel on October 16, 1956 and together raised 4 children. 

  Everyone in Grayson knew her as Rose or Rosy. She was an active member of the community on various boards including the Ladies of St Mary’s Parish. She loved to make and sell cabbage rolls, scuffles, egg noodles and scrubbies to name but a few, and spent hours crocheting blankets and other various items for family and friends.

Rose entered her eternal rest on Monday, March 18, 2024, at the age of 85 years.

She was predeceased by her husband Alfred; her parents George and Mary Appel; in-laws Adam and Julia Hoedel; brothers Eddie and Darvin; son-in-law Barry Guenther; brother-in-laws Walter Baumgartner and Stan Biden; sister-in-law Linda Appel.

Rose leaves to cherish her memory her children Judy (Ken) Beres; Wendy (Kelvin) Bogdan; Cheryl (John) Womack; Brent (Nancy) Hoedel; nine grandchildren; four great  grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sisters Irene Baumgartner; Eva (Nick) Yoner; Hilda Walsh; brothers Joe (Bev); Arnie; Mervin (Ingrid); sister-in-laws  Caroline (Norm) Dean; Marge Appel; Susan Appel; numerous nieces, nephews, and all those who knew and loved Rose.
