Obituary of Paulette Delainey

The family of Paulette Delainey, beloved wife of David and mother of Arlene Osicki, Natalie Conquergood and Duane Delainey sadly announce her passing on Friday, March 22, 2024. She was 79 years of age.

Prayers will be held on Monday, March 25th at 7:00pm from St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church in Melville.

The Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, March 26th at 11:00am also from St. Henry's.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Henry's Memorial Fund, as Mass Offerings or St. Henry's Cemetery as gifts of remembrance. 

The interment will follow in St. Henry's Parish Cemetery.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paulette Louise Delainey (nee Sittler) on March 22, 2024, at Yorkton Regional Hospital.   

Paulette was the eldest of 10 born on September 22, 1944, to Louis and Helen (Kappel) Sittler.  Paulette attended school at the Convent in Leipzig, Sk and then attended 1 year of nursing school in North Battleford which she had fond memories of.

Paulette married the love of her life David Delainey on September 2, 1963, at St. Paschal Church in Leipzig, Sk. They were blessed with five children Natalie (1963), Calvin (1965), Charmaine (1968), Arlene (1969) and Duane (1972). They moved around with dad’s job with the UGG becoming intricate parts of each community, including Stranraer, Fulda, Plunkett, Kenaston, and Davidson. Mom and dad enjoyed family gatherings, holidays, community activities, and friends. Mom and dad’s fondest memory was their three-week trip to Hawaii in 1997. Organizations she was proud to be apart of include: CWL, Red Hats, Royal Purple, 4H, and volunteering at various community functions. After mom became ill with Myasthenia Gravis, they moved to Melville to be closer with their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. From late December 2021 to March of 2024, she was in and out of the hospital with Dad and her family by her side. Mom enjoyed her children and grandchildren, but was especially proud of her five great grandchildren Harper, Amelia, Alice, Oliver, and Max.

 She leaves to cherish her memory her husband David for 60 and a half years, her children  Natalie (Allen) Conquergood, and their children Kennedy Conquergood (Colby Erhardt); Brooklyn (Riley) Wenet, Harper and Amelia; and Arlene (Gerard) Osicki and their children Tenielle (Martin) Boogaard, Alice and Max; Joel (Katie) Sieben; Madison (Matthew) Harrold; Duane (Tracy) Delainey and their children Brooklyn (Lee) Launders, Oliver; Eric Asbjornhus; Madison (Matthew) Olijnyk; and Ayva Delainey. Her Siblings Joan (Kenneth) Miller, David (Beverly) Sittler, Alvin Sittler, Norman (Joan) Sittler, Lyle (Janet) Sittler, Maureen (Eldon) Rindero, Germaine (Jesse) Pataky, Nadine (Grant) Meena and Leon (Roxanne) Sittler. Sister in-laws Lynn Helm, Sarah Delainey, and Leona Sittler. She also leaves to cherish numerous nieces, nephew’s relatives, and friends. Everyone was very loved by Paulette.

Mom was predeceased by her parents Louis and Helen Sittler, her son Calvin Delainey and infant daughter Charmaine, in-laws Fred and Ann Delainey, brother in-laws Dale Delainey and Kenneth Helm, nephew Darrell Sittler and niece Tammy Delainey, and great nephew Brandon Sittler. 

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home, Melville.
