Obituary of Betty Jane Janzen

Janzen - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Janzen. Born to Michael & Nettie Leason of Preeceville on November 2nd, 1941. Betty passed away on Sunday, October 20th, 2013 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre with her immediate family by her side. She was 71 years of age. Predeceased by her parents, Michael & Nettie Leason; brothers Gerald & Glen; and by her sister Karen. Her memory will be cherished by her husband David; her two sons: David (Kathy - Keegan & Tom) of Chilliwack, BC; and Pedee (Joey - Reid & Payton) of Saskatoon; sisters: Marlene (Ken) Kerluke of Wadena SK; Gladys (Don) Ellerman of Grafton, Wisconsin; & Sherry (Doug) Randell of Iroquois Lake SK; also a brother Wayne of Calgary AB; numerous nieces, nephews, and her many other relatives and friends. Betty graduated from the School of Nursing at the Yorkton General Hospital in 1963 and continued to work at the hospital. On April 30th 1961 she met David Janzen. It was a strange way of how they met and dated for 18 months before their marriage on November 2, 1963. The family wishes to give a very great big thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, west wing palliative care unit for 16 days of care and comfort for Betty. A memorial service in her honour will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Kinsmen Telemiracle or for the new Children's Hospital in Saskatoon would be appreciated by the family and may be done on-line at baileysfuneralhome.com .
