Obituary of Emil Paul Kwasnitza

Kwasnitza - Mr. Emil Kwasnitza of Theodore passed away on October 9, 2013 at the Theodore Health Centre. He was eighty - five years of age. Emil Paul Kwasnitza was the first born of seven children to Paul and Kate (nee Koshman) Kwasnitza September 5, 1928 at Yorkton, Saskatchewan. He attended Caldervale School until 1941 when he was forced to leave school and help on the family farm. On August 1, 1959 Emil was united in marriage to Joyce Diak. The couple farmed in the Westbrook district and later purchased a home and moved to Theodore. Emil was a very kind and caring person and a man of few words, but was a great listener. He enjoyed listening to Ukrainian music and watched an occasional hockey game. Emil was predeceased by his wife Joyce, his parents Paul and Kate, and two brothers Walter and Jack; he leaves to mourn his passing his four sisters, June (Nick) Hutzul, Eunice (Chris) Holthusen, Iris Williams, and Donna (Brian) Hewson. He also leaves seven nieces and eight nephews. Emil, your will always be remembered and may you rest in peace. A Prayer Service was held on Monday, October 14, 2013 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Very Rev. Father Mel Slashinsky officiating. The responses were led by William Kozey & parish choir members. The cross bearer was Mike Kreklewetz. The interment took place in the Garden of St. Luke at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Dennis Hutzul, Lorne Hutzul, Allan Hutzul, Darren Kwasnitza, Brent Hutzul and Craig Conrad serving as the casket bearers. Memorials honouring Emil's life may be made to the Westbrook Cemetery Fund or a Charity of one's choice as gifts of remembrance.
