Obituary of Zella Dohms

Zella Dohms was born on June 20, 1922 in the Fenwood District of Saskatchewan, a daughter to William and Esther (nee Gray) Boyle. Zella received her education at the Green Bush School and helped her parents on the family farm. In 1952 Zella was united in marriage to Edward Dohms in Yorkton. The couple were blessed with one son Jim. Edward passed away when Jim was 2 years old and Zella continued to reside in Melville with her sister Shirley and mother Esther Mareon. Zella started working at Swift's Creamery and then was employed at St. Peter's Hospital as Dietary Cook for 40 years retiring at the age of seventy. While working at the hospital she was renowned for her pastry baking. She enjoyed traveling with her sister, her son and her mother to different countries. She also enjoyed reading, watching TV and later on going for day trips with her son Jim coming home late and making grilled cheese sandwiches. Zella passed away on Monday, September 9, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by her parent's and brothers, William in infancy, Donald and her sister Jeannette. Zella leaves to cherish her memory her son, Jim and his wife Sandi of Regina; Sandi's daughter, Shelley (Mike), Mitch, Ashley (Dave) and Oliver; sister Shirley Boyle of Melville; as well as nieces, nephews and friends.
