Obituary of Rudolph Lekach
The family of Rudy Lekach sadly announce his passing on October 14, 2024 at the age of 81 years.
Rudy was born on the family farm north of Ituna on April 7, 1943 to John and Irene (Leciuk) Lekach. He grew up on the family farm with his brothers Emil and Albert. Rudy attended Olga and Ituna School.
Rudy ventured to Moose Jaw, Sask. to work in 1963 and he would always return to help his Dad in the spring and for harvest. This is where he met his beloved wife, Beverley (Bev) Florence. Their first date was to a Saskatchewan Roughrider game. Rudy and Bev were married on August 21, 1965 at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption in Moose Jaw. They then moved to Ituna to farm with his parents. There they were blessed with a daughter, Shannon, and son, Darren.
Rudy took over the family farm after the passing of his Dad. Together Rudy and Bev worked side by side on the farm. Rudy took great pride in the farm, was very particular and everything had to be done on time. They continued to farm until their retirement in 2012. They sold the farm and moved to White City, Sask. in 2013.
Rudy was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, Ituna and the Knights of Columbus.
Rudy loved being with his family. He had an extra special relationship with all of his grandchildren and most recently his first great grandson. He was so proud of all of their accomplishments.
Rudy was predeceased by his parents John and Irene Lekach, brothers Emil and Albert; Sister-in-laws Marlene Florence and Nonah Mohr.
Rudy is lovingly remembered by his wife, Bev, of 59 years. Daughter Shannon (Marvin) Borsa and their children: Tanner Borsa, Brooklynn (Josh) Sapara, Kaelin (Reid) Urbanowski and Rylan Borsa. Son Darren (Dara) Lekach and their children: Bryson (Alyx) Lekach and Taylor Lekach. Great grandchild – Royce Rudy Sapara. Brother-in-laws – Allan Florence and Reg Mohr, numerous nieces and nephews and good friends.
