We are so sorry to hear about Darryl's passing. Growing up in Goodeve as Darryl did, I knew him all my life. He and my brother were very good friends, so he was at our place alot. He was very kind, always had a smile on his face, and had a great sense of humor. There were alot of laughs whenever Darryl was over. Our world is a better place because Darryl was in it. His gift to humanity is to be kind to one another and show compassion to others, as he did all his life. You will be deeply missed, my friend. You touched many lives. Our deepest sympathy to Kay and family.

Darryl was hands down, the best neighbour a person could have! He was so kind to us and very good to our sons; even offering them employment! There was never a birthday nor a Christmas that went by when Darryl didnu2019t offer a gift or a greeting! The best conversations took place over the fence while Darryl was watering his plants and meticulously taking care of his yard. A more generous soul there never was; true compassion and charitablity was personified through Darryl himself! Darryl will be sorely missed by all who knew him! Our sincerest condolences are offered to Darrylu2019s mom, Katie, and to his entire family! It was a pleasure to be a part of both Darrylu2019s and Katieu2019s life for those 17 years! Memories will be with us forevermore! Dean, Heidi, Mitchell, Eric, and Scott Assman

We are so sorry to have lost a very dear friend. He fought a good fight but lost in the end. A great memorie of him is when he let us stay at their place in Maui. He showed us around and then went back to his place to have a good meal and later played cards with Bill Kay and him. Such a wonderful family memorie. We will miss you Darryl. Love Lynn and Dave

Darryl was the driving force on a day I was my sickest as I fought colon cancer at 25 years old. He took my file home one evening and returned the next day to the hospital with the mission to get me to Regina as fast as possible for a test. Because of this I went by ambulance and into surgery that night Dec 23th. This act is what saved my life, without him and the nurses pushing for me to go I would have died in Melville that night. I am eternally grateful for the care he gave everyone of us. He will always be remembered as my hero. My condolences go to his mom and family.
