Dear Carla, Trent, and Families I am so sad to know of your dad's passing. I know that you will have many days of sorrow and I wish I could be there to offer my condolences in person. Uncle Hank seemed to value his privacy, and I suspect he lived through some of the most difficult circumstances that life can throw at a person. Circumstances for many years have distanced us in miles, but I know from experience that it is never too late to rekindle a friendship with family members. He may not have had the courage to tell you this often, but I have no doubt that your dad loved you, and that he was so proud of the adults you have become. I encourage you to try finding the blessings hidden in this experience. Perhaps there was a lesson you needed to learn or a change that needed to happen in the dynamic of your life in order for you to grow. I hope that through this growth you are able to optimistically reflect on your dad's life. Love from Shaun
