Obituary of Gregory Gene Rainville

Gregory Gene Rainville - Sunrise May 11,1959 - Sunset July 10,2018. On Tuesday July 10,2018 Our loved one began his journey to the Spirit world. There to greet him will be his ancestors whom are awaiting his safe arrival. Greg was a Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Nephew and friend to many. He is predeceased by his loving parents; Marvin Gene Rainville (1961) Constance V Delorme nee: Lafontaine, Rainville, (2012) Step father Henry S Delorme (2015) Mushum Norman Lafontaine (2012) Great Mushum & Kokum Harry & Elizabeth Carrier, and by other extended family members to numerous to mention. Greg grew up on the Piapot First Nation and attended school at the Qu'Appelle Indian Residential School and also Marieval Day School. In the 1980's He successfully completed his training as a Special Indian Constable with the RCMP and was stationed in Northern Saskatchewan. Later on in his life he served the Sakimay First Nations by becoming an elected Band Councillor. Greg, took pride in his traditional ways and danced Men's Traditional at various Pow wows in both Canada and the U.S. His many talents included wood crafting, cooking, carpentry, hunting and assisted in many family and community events. Greg will always be lovingly remembered by his daughters/Sons in law; Leila Bob (Myron) & children, Sara Taveras (Benny) & Sons, Monica Wasacase, Jess Wasacase and Gina (Brendan) Rainville & Children. His Siblings; Hazel Ahenakew, Sandra L. Delorme, Lisa Rainville, Rhonda Watson & Rodney Delorme Sr. Nieces, Nephews and extended families. Close friend Denise Kaiswatum and also by his caregivers at the Lakeview Lodge, Standing Buffalo First Nation where he was a resident for the past three (3) years.
