Obituary of Violet Jean Nagy

NAGY - Violet Nagy, age 86 of Melville Saskatchewan, wife of the late Louis Nagy. Violet passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 26, 2018 at St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville. Violet Jean Nagy was born on December 4, 1931 in the Happy Centre District to Charles and Martha Geisler (Pearson). Violet was the eldest of three children. When she was 10 years of age, her father passed leaving them alone on the farm where they continued to reside. Violet attended Happy Centre School and achieved her Grade 10. She later went to work for area families and at Swift's Creamery in Melville. On June 29, 1953 Violet married Louis Nagy Jr. and lived on the farm known as the Horvath farm in the Happy Centre District. They were blessed with four children: Marilyn, Wayne, Correen and Blair. Violet and Louis enjoyed family gatherings, socializing with friends and neighbours as well as car trips to BC. Louis passed away in 1983 and Violet continued to farm with the boys until October 1994 when she moved to a home in Melville on Montreal Street. She was happy to have Blair, Leanne and Jordan reside on the home place. She enjoyed the trips she took with her friends to Hawaii and other places. Being adventurous as she was, she moved to Parksville, BC in 2004 returning to Melville in 2006 to her home on Main Street where she resided til moving to the Nursing Home in October 2017. While in Melville, Violet enjoyed an active independent life taking care of her yard, gardening and cooking up a storm for whoever showed up. She truly enjoyed all her friendships she made in the community and at church. He favourite pastimes were gardening, watching curling, crocheting, knitting, reading, and being a chauffeur to those who needed one. Violet was predeceased by her husband Louis in 1983, her brother Harvey in 2007 and son-in-law Ray Malinoski in 2011. Violet will be deeply and forever missed by her children and family: daughter, Marilyn (Meryle) children, Trent and Colleen Beres their children, Trinitie and Cassidy; Garett and Breanne Beres their children, Grady and Baylee; Jenelle and Jeremy Ottenbreit their children, Torren, Preston and Daxon; son, Wayne (Lorna) children, David Lockhart (Breanna lssel); Stephanie Lockhart (Darryl Dickey) their children, Brigette and Logan; daughter, Correen (Ralph) Brooke Malinoski and Carmen Malinoski; son Blair (Leanne) their son, Jordan Nagy (Payton Molnar); sister, Eleanor Krasowski (Borden); sister-in-laws, Francis Geisler, Eunice Nagy, Ethel Jones and Ida Daggett; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 from the First United Church with Rev. Brian Mee Officiating. Arrangements were by Bailey's Funeral Home, Melville.
