Obituary of Gerald John Petrowsky

Gerald John Petrowsky was born to John and Elizabeth (nee Spilchen) Petrowsky on January 3I, l958 in ltuna, Saskatchewan. Gerald received his early education in Hubbard School and later in ltuna High School. His first jobs included Morris lndustries and Leontowicz Construction. He then joined CN Rail in 1978 and worked there until 1994. After leaving CN, Gerald settled on the family farm, pursuing his lifelong passion for raising cattle. On October 7, 2000 Gerald married his love Agnes Szarkowicz. Together, side by side, they built up the farm bigger than his father before him and continued to enjoy the work until his health no longer allowed him to. Gerald's greatest quality was his fierce determination and willingness to help a friend or neighbour in need. His generosity and selflessness were a testament to his character and a blessing to us all. Gerald loved his cattle and on more than one occasion he would spend more time checking on them than time with his wife. Although he spent most of his time farming, he always made time for his other passion, hunting. He was an avid hunter and supported all aspects of the wildlife community. He was a member of the Beaver Hills branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation and continued to support them throughout the years. Gerald passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018. Gerald was pre-deceased by his father John, mother and father in law, Molly and Joe Szarkowicz. He will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife Agnes, mother Elizabeth Petrowsky, sister Bernadette (Kenny) Kuschak, brothers Jerome Petrowsky and Peter Petrowsky and nieces: Kimberley (Brent Gervais) Kuschak, Keira, Ava & Karden, Karla (Aaron) Sauve Davin & Emma, Tammi (Bryan Yanko) Harley, Lane & Cody; brother in law Michael Szarkowicz and sister in law Brenda (Mitch) Kolanko; nieces and nephews: Presley Szarkowicz & Troydon Szarkowicz (Hannah Grodecki), Tasha Kolanko & Kenton Kolanko.
