Obituary of Annie Bohach

Mrs. Annie Bohach of Ituna passed away on March 8, 2018 at St. Peter's Hospital in Melville at the 88 years. Annie Boychuk (Bohach) was born to John Boychuk and Mary Misinchuck on October 05, 1929 in Regina SK. She was the only sister to Mike Boychuk and Bill Boychuk. Annie married Nick Bohach on Oct 06, 1946 at Ituna Sacred Heart Church. They farmed 8 miles east of Kelliher until 1980. They then retired and moved to Ituna. Nick passed away Jan 28, 2007. Nick and Ann had 3 children Laurie Sametz, Larry Bohach (passed March 22, 1988), and John Bohach. Not one to sit idle, Annie worked on the farm gardening, raising chickens, cattle, pigs, Clydesdale and of course gardening, baking and cooking. She also worked in Ituna bar/cafe, and cooked for the priest. Annie also loved to crochet, paper toll and play bingo. Annie loved to take any course or classes offered by Parkland Regional College. Anne and her son Larry took a meat cutting class and made countless rings of sausage and other cuts of meats, with their neighbor Anne Yanko and daughter in law Dianne. She also loved to travel with her daughter Laurie who worked for the airlines. She has traveled to Portugal, NWT, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Ontario and often to BC to visit her daughter. Her son John and daughter in law Heather enjoyed spending time with mom and dad at local polka fests, air shows, Kentucky Fried Chicken at the Fort and I am sure a couple of visits to the casino. Annie, also loved her grandchildren very much. She would spend days preparing food and sweets when she knew the grandchildren were coming for a visit. She would sit around with the grandchildren chatting and teaching them how to play cards for Ukrainian poker, 31 and her favorite game of 3 spot. She was always a hard worker with a smile on her face, never complained and had the most beautiful garden in Ituna, that she took great pride in. She loved her flowers very much and grew many. Predeceased by her parents Mary and John, husband Nick, brother Mike and son Larry. Lovingly remembered by her daughter Laurie, son John, daughters-in-law Heather and Dianne. Her grandchildren Coralee (Matt), Chantel (Colin), Nadine (Matt), Jody (Beau), Michael (Kristie) and Travis, and 10 great grandchildren. The Funeral Liturgy was held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ituna with Rev. Father Ray Lukie, C.Ss.R. as the Celebrant. The responses were led by Ladmer Moskal, Heidi Spilchuk and Wayne Boczulak. The cross bearer was Meghan Bundus and the epistle reader was Dianne Bohach. The interment followed in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery with Coralee Bohach, Chantel Kinch, Nadine Bohach, Jody Riedel, Yvonne Bohach and Vern Bohach serving as the casket bearers.
