Obituary of Jo-Ann Esther Mann

Jo-Ann Esther (Paul) Mann passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at the age of 71 years. She was born on April 16, 1946 in Preeceville, Saskatchewan to J. Edwin and Esther (Homstol) Paul. Jo-Ann attended elementary and high school in Preeceville and was quite involved in youth activities at St. John Lutheran Church. In 1967, she attended Allan Business College in Saskatoon. The next year, she moved to Melville and began work at St. Paul Lutheran Home, where she worked until starting a family. She met Dennis Mann in 1969 and they married on May 23, 1970 in Preeceville. They had three children, Brent in 1973, Gwen in 1976, and Melissa in 1980. In 1976, they moved to their forever home on their farm outside Melville, just north of Dennis' parents. In her spare time, Jo-Ann enjoyed gardening, bowling, jigsaw puzzles, and could often be found with a word search book close at hand. Coffee with the ladies was something she looked forward to each day. In the summer, she loved camping with family. She would also never pass up an opportunity to play board games, and she loved simply spending time with her family, especially after the arrival of her grandchildren, Sarah, Michael, and Abby. Jo-Ann stayed at home to raise the children but returned to work at Robinson's/The Bargain Shoppe, once the kids were older. She treasured all of the friends she made over the years and loved living in the close-knit community of Melville. She was predeceased by her parents, J. Edwin and Esther Paul, brothers Vern Paul and Dean Paul, mother- and father-in-law Henry and Helene Mann, and in-laws Lawrence and Joy Mann, Richard Mann, Betty and Joe Hack, and Audrey and Olaf Wikman. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Dennis Mann; son Brent (Theresa) Mann and precious grandchildren Sarah, Michael, and Abigail of Melville; daughters Gwen (Lawrence) Premack of Melville and Melissa Mann of Saskatoon; brother Clair (Bonnie) Paul of Preeceville; sister Lois (Franklin) Marsh of Mistatim; sisters-in-law Mae Paul of Terrace, BC and Phyllis Paul of Preeceville; and numerous treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jo-Ann will be deeply missed by family and friends. Service Information Monday, February 26th, 2018 2:00pm, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
