Obituary of Lynn Matthew Yuristy

Lynn passed away peacefully with his wife Jackie by his side on Wednesday, January 17th 2018 at the age of 56, after a lengthy health battle, followed by congestive heart failure. Lynn was born to Jean and Matt Yuristy on December 4, 1961 at the Yorkton Union Hospital. He was the youngest and only son of five children. On October 5, 1985 he married his soulmate and love of his life, Jackie Goertzen. His love for Jackie was endless and he would have done anything for her. His two loves were his mom Jean, and wife Jackie. Together they ran the family homestead. They worked together at their meat shop, Parno Meats, from 1991 to 2005, until health reasons for both did not allow them to carry on. Early in their marriage, Lynn was injured at work, and following two back surgeries with complications, he could no longer work. In younger years, Lynn and Jackie enjoyed farming, gardening, growing beautiful flower gardens, fishing, planting trees, hunting, playing cards, snowmobiling, trapping, bonfires, working with meat, watching movies, and spending time with Jackie. Lynn and Jackie were not able to have children. Instead they have many extended and chosen family community members. His love of animals, especially Gismo (passed) and Nemo was evident. Lynn had a heart of gold, treated all like family, and will always be remembered for never giving up, in spite of living in constant, excruciating pain. Lynn was predeceased by his dad Matt; sister Betty; brother-in-law Jeff; father-in-law Frank, and many other family members. He leaves to mourn in his passing, his wife of 32 years, Jackie: mother Jean; sisters Elaine (Art), Grace (Ken), and Shirley (Vince); mother-in-law Mary; sisters-in-law Vivian (Marv), Gwen (Darryl), numerous nephews, nieces and his many other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 from St. Stanislaus RC Church in Ituna. Pastor David Thomas of the Ituna Victory Church officiated. The eulogy was given by Marv Copeland. Andrew Goertzen sang 'I Can't Help Falling in Love With You'. Organist, Paulette van der Helm led the congregation in the singing of the hymns 'The Old Rugged Cross' and 'How Great Thou Art.'.
