Obituary of William "Billy" Yanko

It is with great sadness that Stella Yanko announces the passing of her brother William Yanko. Willy as he was known by family and friends was born September 12, 1957 at the Lestock Hospital. Right from the start Willy was a hard worker. Willy started his education in Kelliher, graduating from grade 12. After completing grade 12, Willy drove school bus for a couple of years until he found employment with the Dept. of Highways. While working for the Dept. of Highways, Willy ran a mixed farm. He enjoyed talking about grain farming and his charolais cattle. In 1998 Willy purchased a home quarter in the RM of Kelross, where he lived and farmed. As his farm grew it made it difficult to work and farm so he retired from the Dept. of Highways to concentrate on farming. He never shyed away from fixing anything and believed in doing things right the first time. Willy enjoyed reading, having a cup of coffee and visiting with family and friends at auction sales that he liked to attend. He will be sadly missed. Willy is survived by his only sister Stella. Willy was predeceased by his mother Annie, father Jack and brother Lucas.
