We first met Fred through my brother, Wayne Lysak and our common support of the Yorkton Terriers. Our now son-in-law Jason Wagar played for the Terriers and we would often make the drive from Saskatoon on weekend home games. There were 4 of us and we always arrived after the games had started and Fred always made room for us when we honed in on section L. But it was more than his patience with our interruption that drew our entire family to him. It was his kind, gentle manner, the twinkle in his eye as he graciously pulled out the "extra" programs for our girls that he just happened to have. Fred was the epitome of a gentleman and we learned much about his love of family, commitment to a cause, and unwavering dedication to things that were meaningful to him in those 3 years we shared a section with him at the Gallagher Centre. We often had an opportunity to meet up with him in later years through Wayne and sister Diane and Garry Gawryluik and were grateful for those visits. Fred's warm and generous presence will be greatly missed. Sending you our gratitude in having known Fred and much sympathy as you grieve his leaving. Remembering Fred, Bryan and Donna Bilokreli; Jason and Melanie Wagar; Jonny and Mandy Bast and family

While I never met him personally I have known his son Barry and wife Sharon for a number of years. My wife and I want to pass along our thoughts to the family. Even when a life has been long and rewarding, it's never easy to have to say goodbye. All the best to you all.

Dave and I send our deepest sympathy to your family. Fred was an amazing man, so giving of his time. We admired his devotion to the Alzheimer's Society and his volunteering to Sunrise and many other organizations. He was a man young at heart, friendly and a wonderful man to chat with. Yorkton has lost a great citizen.

Fred was a long-time volunteer with the Sunrise Health Region and served wherever he was needed up until just two or three years ago. It was a pleasure to see him at our Volunteer Appreciation event in 2015. He was charming and kind and dedicated to the people and causes that he were important to him. His love and caring for his wife was an example to all and I rejoice that they are reunited. I pray that he will rest in gentle peace, and that those who love him will be comforted by the many happy memories they surely have of him.
