Obituary of Deborrah Elizabeth "Debbie" Larson

On Sunday, September 24th 2017, Deborrah Elizabeth Larson (nee Stovin) of Yorkton, Saskatchewan passed away while in care at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. She was predeceased by her parents Bill and Doreen Stovin; mother-in-law, Irene Larson and sister-in-law Tuula Stovin. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Douglas Larson; her children: Bill (Sherri) Larson and Bonnie Larson; her two grandchildren: Matthew and Liam Larson; her brother Bill Stovin; her sister Diane Mulhull (Al), and her father-in-law, Roy (Speedy) Larson. Debbie was born on October 17, 1950 in Bellville, Ontario. She spent the young years of her life there, in 1959, the family moved west to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. There she graduated from Evan Hardy Collegiate and then attended Kelsey Institute where she completed her CNA certificate. After graduation she moved to Yorkton in 1972 where she began work at the Yorkton Union Hospital. It was around this time that she met Doug and in September that year, they were married. In 1973 William was born and she put aside her career to focus on raising a family. In April of 1976, Bonnie came into the world. Debbie continued to raise the family from home, but gave back to her community by joining the Kinette Club of Yorkton. During her service with the club, she held nearly every executive position and was named Kinette of the Year in 1986. Debbie returned to the work force as the children grew older. In 2002 Debbie's first grandchild Matthew, was born and 2004 Liam was born. She looked forward to Friday nights as the grandkids came over every week. Debbie retired from the workforce when she turned 65. Debbie enjoyed reading mystery novels and followed the Blue Jays and Riders. A graveside service was held on Saturday afternoon, September 30th 2017 at the Garden of Memories, Yorkton Memorial Gardens. Doreen Day officiated. Son Bill was the urnbearer. A reception followed in the Family Centre Reception Room. In Deborrah's memory, memorials to the Yorkton Regional Health Centre or to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
