Obituary of Joanne Marie Parchman
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister and grandmother, Joanne Parchman on August 26, 2017 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. Joanne was born in Regina, SK on August 28, 1937. She was raised in Brandon, MB and in 1959 began training to become a Registered Psychiatric Nurse at Valley View Training Centre in Moose Jaw. She met her true love, Bryce Parchman while they were both in training and they were married in 1961. In 1963, they moved to Yorkton to work at the new Yorkton Psychiatric Centre. They stayed in Yorkton and raised their family. Mom retired in 1987 and stayed active on many health related boards. In 2012, she moved to Saskatoon to be closer to her family. She was predeceased by her husband Bryce Parchman and her parents Norman and Margaret Sutherland. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 1st 2017 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Crystal Bailey B.Th officiating. The musical selections were 'In the Bulb There Is A Flower', 'Ava Maria', and 'Hellelujah'. Tributes were given by granddaughters Isabella & Abigail. The candle-lighter was Dorian. The interment followed in the Garden of St. John with Chuck, Dorian & Dyland Accleton, Norm, Brad & Braxton Parchman serving as the casketbearers. Morris Stakiw was the honorary bearer . A reception followed in the Family Centre Reception Room. Service Information
