Obituary of Sophie Badiuk

Sophie (nee Federle) Badiuk was born to Fred and Mary (nee Augustine) Federle on June 2nd 1939 on a farm near Bangor, Saskatchewan. Sophie grew up in the Killaly district of Saskatchewan and went to Farrell School in the Mariahilf district and Killaly School. Sophie was the oldest girl in the family of 7 children 2 boy's 5 girls. Sophie worked for farmers at young age to help support the family due to her mother being a widow. In 1957 Sophie moved to Regina to work for the winter months. She was laid off and came home to help with the garden, harvest, canning, cut wood, butcher chickens and making sausage. Sophie met Nick Badiuk in 1959 and were united in marriage on October 14th, 1961. The couple worked in Regina until 1966 then moved to Saskatoon and lived there until Nick retired from working as a carpenter in 2000. They then decided to move closer to family and moved to Canora. Sophie lost her beloved husband Nick in January 14, 2008. Having no children Sophie moved to Melville on October 31, 2010 to be closer to her family. Sophie loved being around friends, dancing, work in the garden, attending weddings and parties. She loved to work with her mother and younger sisters and brothers. Sophie was a caring and out going person. Sophie entered her eternal rest on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville at the age of 78 years. Sophie is predeceased by her husband Nick father Fred Federle April 5th 1954 age 49, mother Mary Federle (Hoedel) February 28, 2005 age 89, infant sister Elizabeth April, 26 1944, brothers Klemens Federle March 2nd 2005 age 63 and brother Charlie Federle February 4, 2009, mother in law Irene Badiuk August 20th 1981 age 73, father in law Fred Badiuk January 8th 1959 age 58, grandparents John and Margaret Augustine, Karl and Sophie Federle as well as uncles, aunts and cousins. Sophie leaves to mourn her passing and cherish her life her sisters Annie McFall, Rose (Jim) Haas, Eva (Albert) Hulm; 14 nieces, nephews, 19 great nieces and nephews as well as number aunts and uncles and cousins Service Information Tuesday, July 18th, 2017 7:00pm, Bailey's Funeral Home - Melville Wednesday, July 19th, 2017 11:30am, St. Henry's Roman Catholic Church Interment Details Canora Town Cemetery
