Obituary of Mervin Leslie Guy

Mervin Leslie Guy passed away on Monday, March 15th, 2017 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre following a courageous battle with liver disease. Mervin was born on December 28th 1947 at the Yorkton Hospital. He was the only son of Leslie and Edith Guy (nee Thompson). Mervin grew up in the Parkerview district and then moved with his family to the farm at Jedburgh. His schooling was at Jedburgh and then was bussed to Ituna. He decided that school was not his thing to do, so he took up farming with his dad. On May 29, 1981 he was married to Shirley Harvey of the Wroxton district, and they were blessed with two sons, Keith and Kevin. They were Mervin's pride and joy. He involved them in everything with the farm, from taking them to bull sales, to purchasing things for the farm. He taught and encouraged his family to make their own decisions in life and then to follow through with whatever their plans and dreams were. In his younger years, he loved to ski-doo and play hockey. Later in life, he enjoyed going fishing as it was a favourite pastime. He was happy and very much enjoyed when his neighbor would ask him to do some type of farming job. When he was not helping the neighbor, he was caring for his large yard, tending to the garden and flowers. A smile came over his face when someone came over to visit. In later years of life, Mervin & Shirley enjoyed going for drives, they never knew where they would end up. Mervin was predeceased by his father Les, and his only sister Deanna, and niece, Kym Fenske. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Shirley; two sons: Keith (Lisa) of Coronach, SK and Kevin of Lacombe, AB. His mother, Edith Guy of the Theodore Nursing Home, and a brother-in-law, Herman Fenske of Theodore. Also his special companion, his dog Maysee. Mervin's wishes were to have a private family interment at a later date. Service Information At a later date
