Obituary of Alvina Leona Jansen

Alvina Leona was born on November 15th, 1938 in Provost, AB, to Anton and Frances (Scherger) Hauck. She was the 15th child born to the family. When Alvina was 3 years old her mother passed away and she was raised by her father and step-mother Magdalena (Kraft) as well as her older sisters and brothers. She attended grade school at Notre Dame Convent in Leipzig and then finished her studies in Denzil, Sk. She married Ben on September 28th, 1959 and they lived in the Unity area before purchasing the farm near Killaly, SK. Their marriage was blessed with six children; Alan, Valerie, Nadine, Chad, Gwen and Tricia. Alvina helped with the farm and always had a huge garden and was a very good cook and baker. She worked at Nellie's Bakery and the CN Bunk House in Melville. After retiring, she moved to Melville and resided in her own home. Alvina's family was of utmost importance to her. She loved to have everyone together and enjoyed time spent with her immediate and extended family. She volunteered at the church and hospital, she liked to play cards, cook, bake, and watch her children and grandchildren's activities. On March 13th, 2017, Alvina lost her five and a half year battle with Cancer and went to her eternal rest at the age of 78 years She was predeceased by her husband Ben, her son Chad Jansen, her brothers, Mike, Simon, Otto, Johnny, Tony and Alex Hauck, her sisters; Ceil Keller and Mary Young and many brothers and sisters-in-laws. She leaves to cherish her memory; her children, Alan (Linda) Jansen and daughters Chelsey (Travis) Kirschman and Keysha Jansen; Valerie (Dave) Stachowich and children Brandon Stachowich (Cynthia Roussy), Garrett (Stephanie) & Zoe and Addi Stachowich, Ainsley (Kyle Yarduk) Stachowich; Nadine (David) Tether and children Candice (Patrick) & Madelynn Erickson, Devon (Cynthia Shum) Tether, Justin (Christine) & Ember Tether, Ashley Tether (Sean Thomas); Gwen Jansen and son Dylan; Tricia (Brad) Miller and children Zachary and Max Miller. Her sisters; Annie Fleck, Martha Carsell, Clem Walz, Louise Gramlich, Angie Choptain, Lena Volk, and her sisters-in-law; Isabel Hauck and Theresa Hauck. Her brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank Jansen, Marie Mildenberger, Peter (Phylis) Jansen, Theresa Mitchell, John (Helen) Jansen, Anne Dundon, Jerome (Valaria) Jansen, James Jansen, Jeanette (Tony) Kohlman, Agnes Flanagan, Gen (Harold) Kennedy, Ray (Brenda) Jansen; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Our family would like to thank Dr. Eshawesh, the nurses and the staff at St. Peter's Hospital and special thanks you to Kim Rustski for all of your friendship and compassionate care.
