Obituary of Robert Craig Read

Robert Craig Read was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, July 18, 1962, to Richard and Roberta (nee Craft) Read. He obtained his education in Melville, Saskatchewan and spent most of his childhood with his grandma Craft (cause his grandma let him get away with everything). At the age of 12 he joined 2517 Legion Army Cadets in Melville, Saskatchewan until the age of 18 then joined the Melitia in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. When Robert (Craig) left home he started working at the Saan Store in Melville where he trained as a manger and was later transferred to the Saan store in Grande Cache, Alberta. At the age of twenty-six Robert (Craig) joined the Military. He spent the majority of his career in Shilo, Manitoba in the IRCHA Regiment. From there he had postings in Kingston, Ontario and finally in Edmonton, Alberta where he worked for PPCCI. In 2008 Robert (Craig) did a tour in Afghanistan. Shortly after his tour in Afghanistan is when he began his new battle with Crohn's. In 2012 Robert (Craig) retired as a Sargent from the Military and moved back to Melville, Saskatchewan to be closer to his two youngest sons. Robert (Craig) enjoyed spending time with his children teaching them all the life lessons learned along his life's journey. Robert (Craig) spent time with his children doing meticulous model reconstruction, tactical gaming and creative writing to name a few. Robert (Craig) was predeceased by his father Richard Read. He leaves to celebrate his life his children Sherry Waldon of Belleville, Ontario, Cian Morrison of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Parker Read and Spencer Read of Melville, Saskatchewan; his mother Roberta (Rob) Rohr of Melville, Saskatchewan; his brother Clint (Alanna) Read of Lemberg, Saskatchewan; his nephews Brian Read of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Mathew Read and William Read of Lemberg, Saskatchewan; as well as family members, extended family; and many friends who are thought of as family.
