Obituary of Allan Nayko

Allan Kenneth Nayko was born on January 4, 1946 at Melville, Saskatchewan; a son of Anton & Annie (nee Kaczmar) Nayko. Allan was raised on the farm and attended St. Joseph's Country School, and finished his schooling at the Ituna School. As a young man he began farming with his parents on the family farm, and eventually took over the farming operation. He was a true man of the land, and was actively farming at the time of his sudden passing. Allan was a very social individual, he was very fortunate in his life to have exceptional neighbors on the farm, and to have many close friends around him. He always enjoyed the visits of his nephew, his two nieces and their families. He took great care of his mother Annie after his father Tony passed away, and had been her main caregiver for the past 25 years. Allan passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 5th 2017. He was 71 years of age. Predeceased by his father Anton in 1991, his mother Annie on February 24th, he leaves to mourn his passing his brother Gerald & his wife Ann of Hythe, AB; a nephew, Jerry & his wife Bev and their children Faith, Damon & Hanna; two nieces: Jody and her husband Ken Mah and their children Katelyn and Rhaya; and Kari and her husband Stan Nyland and their children Tanner & Reis. Also two aunts: Rosie & her husband Bill Uchacz of Ituna; and Emily Kapusiak in Ontario, and their families. Prayers were held on Sunday, March 12th 2017, and the Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Monday, March 13th 2017, all from Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ituna. Very Rev. Fr. Peter Pidskalny CSs.R. was the Celebrant. Bishop Emeritus Michael Wiwchar, CS.R. assisted, and Larry Tymiak was the sacristan. Cantors, Ladmer Moskal & Wayne Boczulak led in the singing of the responses. The crossbearer was Reis Nyland, and Laura Berezny read the Epistle. The interment took place in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery with Jody & Ken Mah, Jerry & Bev Nayko, and Kari & Stan Nyland serving as the casketbearers. Memorials were to the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery Fund.
