Obituary of Gilbert Kleebaum

It is with great sadness we mourn the passing of our brother, brother-in-law and uncle, Gilbert Kleebaum. Gilbert's battle with cancer ended when he entered his eternal rest on Monday, February 27, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospital at the age of 78 years. Gilbert was born on June 1, 1938 at Neudorf, Saskatchewan, a son to Reinhold and Olga (nee Ellerman) Kleebaum. He received his education at the Neudorf School and worked for Frank Niebergall with horses and then worked for the C.P.R. on the bridge gang. Later Gilbert and his brother Alvin went to Ontario and worked at a paper mill then went north and worked at a lumber camp. He then moved to Sudbury where he worked at a mine and then continued mining at the Yukon as a Blaster. Later he moved to British Columbia then to Edmonton where he worked for P.C.L construction and continued to work for P.C.L. in Regina. From Regina Gilbert farmed west of Melville with his brothers. While farming Gilbert, Alvin and David started their own construction business called Kleebaum Brother's Construction. Gilbert played a big roll in the construction business, which they operated until retiring in 2007. Retirement was not for Gilbert, he continued to do odd jobs to keep himself busy. Gilbert enjoyed fishing, traveling, reading building lawn furniture and lawn ornaments out of wood. He had a great faith in God and fellow man.
