Obituary of Mary Elaine Tymiak

Two months shy of her 80th birthday, Mary Elaine Tymiak of Ituna, beloved wife of the late Alex Tymiak, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 10th, 2017. Born to John and Nettie Woychesko, she and her four sisters, Lorrainne (Gregory+) Kozekewich, Natalie (Jim+) Cameron; Sophie (Bill) Senkowski, and Angeline (Walter) Kowal grew up on the family farm in the Churchill District near Ituna, Saskatchewan. After completing High school in Ituna she worked as a telephone operator in Ituna followed by a couple of years of work in Saskatoon. While in Saskatoon she was courted by Alex Tymiak from the Jasmin area. They grew their relationship writing letters about "making hay while the sun is shining". They married at The Sacred Heart Church in 1960. Together they started their farm and family where they raised their five children, Josephine (husband Bob Gebauer, daughter Marie, son Alexander (deceased) of Lac du Bonnet, MB,) Anthony (deceased in 1985), Patricia (husband Craig Ayers of Saskatoon,) Sylvia Kay (deceased in infancy), Andrew (daughters Justina and Zoe) of Vancouver, and Dolores (husband Kevin Gebauer of Bruno). Elaine was a hard working mother, farmer and plumber's assistant. Over the years she and Alex were inseparable! Although life was not always easy on the farm, there was never a shortage of love and mom's great cooking to go around. Her heart was broken with the loss of Alex in 2001 and she moved to Saskatoon to be close to family and friends who will all hold her close to their hearts. While in Saskatoon she continued to be jovial and selfless, always expressing caring thoughts and prayers for her children and those she loved. She had a taste of Heaven on Earth for the last two years of her life as she was so well taken care of at St. Joseph's Care home in Saskatoon. Now she can be reunited with her dear Alex.
