Obituary of Grace Franklin
FRANKLIN - Grace Franklin of St. Paul Lutheran Home, Melville, Saskatchewan, where she entered her eternal rest on Friday, February 3, 2017 at the age of 91 years. Grace was born to Robert and Fanny (nee Battersby) Franklin, on December 23, 1925 on the family farm in the Fenwood District of Saskatchewan. Grace received her education at Greenbush School and helped her parents on the farm. Grace resided on the farm with her family. When her family moved into Melville Grace moved with them. When Luke moved into St. Paul Lutheran Home, Grace continued to reside with Margaret and lived together on 5th Ave. west until 2007. They then moved to Morris Lodge in Bangor and when a place was available Grace became a resident at St. Paul Lutheran Home. Grace enjoyed Helping Margaret in the house as well as outside, embroidering, gardening, doing jigsaw puzzles, watching TV and playing solitaire. Predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Rose, Isabel, Bertha and Margaret; her brothers, Willie, Percy, and Luke. Grace was the last one left in the Franklin Family but leaves to cherish her memory, cousins; Ethel (Bill) Van Parys of Yorkton and Lucy (Joe) Roske of Regina; as well as her friends. The Funeral Service was held on February 7, 2017 from the Chapel of Bailey's Funeral Home in Melville with Sherry Morris officiating. The interment followed in the Melville Municipal Cemetery with Sheldon Van Parys, Bill Van Parys, Carmen Bierwagen, Elizabeth Jones, Violet Burant and Christian Benjestorf as the casketbearers.
