Obituary of Robert Baines Lee
It is with great sadness we announce that Bob passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 at the age of 91 ½ years. Bob was born June 21, 1925 in the Peachview District to Walter and Della Lee, one of 9 children. Bob enlisted in the Air Force near the end of the 2nd World War and was very proud of his time in the Air Force. After returning from the war Bob and his brother "Bus" took over the family farm. In 1950 he married Anne Sharrock and they continued to farm until 1976 taking over the Sharrock farm as well. Bob and Anne had 2 children, Wendi and Rick. The farm was a busy mixed farm with purebred Herefords that kept everyone busy. Bob was involved the Saltcoats 4-H club for many years when the family showed calves. Bob was also involved in the cooperative movement and served many years on the Board of Directors of the Yorkton Coop. In 1976 Bob and Anne moved to Yorkton. Bob had a few part time jobs that he enjoyed doing. Bob started to golf which he enjoyed doing for many years, he loved to watch hockey, curling, and football. He spent many hours on the road going to watch his grandsons play hockey, on the Yorkton Terrier fan bus or at Taylor field cheering on the Riders. Bob was an avid cribbage player and would happily teach anyone to play, his perfect 29 hand was a great day. Bob was a very active Legion member for many years and always participated in the Remembrance Day services. In 2016 he was unable to attend the service but he proudly wore his Legion jacket and watched it on TV. Bob was predeceased by his wife Anne in 1996 and is survived by his daughter Wendi, his son Rick and daughter in law Debbie; his grandson Tanner and his wife Brittany, great grandchildren River and Slater; his grandson Clayton and his wife Katie, great grandchildren Brooklynn and Kage. He is also survived by his sister Mildred, brother Jim and many nieces and nephews. Bob will be missed by all but never forgotten.
