Obituary of Morley Fisher

Morley Clarence Patrick Fisher, beloved husband of Ethel of Yorkton passed away at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre on January 19, 2017 after a short struggle with progressive cancer. Morley was born in Preeceville, SK on June 6, 1941 to Clarence and Mary (nee Fitzpatrick). Preeceville School provided his education to grade five, when the Fisher family relocated to Hespeler, ON, where he completed his formal education. After completing school, he worked in a factory until he and his brother Jim established their own cleaning business in Kitchener. On June 30, 1962 Morley was united in matrimony with his best friend Ethel Hearn in St. James Anglican Church of Hespeler, ON. While residing in Kitchener following their marriage they were blessed with their first child, son Aaron, September 2, 1963. Upon return to Yorkton in 1966, he was employed at the Yorkton Union Hospital in the laundry department until ill health made it necessary to retire. Morley and Ethel were blessed with their second child, daughter Lorrie, August 10, 1967. Morley's many enjoyments included Johnny Cash music, reading, painting, and collecting Clydesdale horse memorabilia, along with visiting family, friends, and neighbors. Morley was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Mary; his brother James; sister in-law Viola. He leaves to celebrate his life, wife Ethel; son Aaron (Cindy); daughter Lorrie (Roland); his beloved grandchildren, Kyle, Amanda, Kendra, and Bryce; great grandson Tavon; step grandchildren, Amber, Denaye (Brendon), Dallyn, and Morgan; great step grandson, Kyler; many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and countless friends.He will be missed dearly by his family, and friends. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 24th 2017 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Jim Atcheson, Thelma Galbraith & Jenelle Gregg officiating. Laurel Siddons gave the eulogy, grandson Kyle read scripture. Pianist, Chris Fisher led the congregation in the singing of the hymns 'Softly & Tenderly', 'Just As I Am', and 'I Must Have the Saviour With Me'. Special music was provided by granddaughter Kendra Fisher, who sang 'Man in Black' and 'Suppertime'. The urnbearers were Bryce & Kyle Fisher. The interment will take place in the spring in the Preeceville Cemetery. Condolences can be left at baileysfuneralhome.com Memorials can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
