Obituary of Effie Oystreck

OYSTRECK - Effie Oystreck, resident of Hospice St. Maria in Grayson, SK passed away on Thursday, November 24th 2016. She was 83 years of age. There is a graveside service being planned for the spring of 2017 in the family plot at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens. Effie Oystreck was born on October 13, 1933 on the family farm in the Rhein district of Saskatchewan; a daughter of Thomas and Martha (nee Achtemichuk) Oystreck. She was raised on the family farm and spent time at care homes in Yorkton. She worked for a time at the Saskatchewan Abilities Council. In 1996 she moved to Hospice St. Maria in Grayson, where she happily spent the next 20 years of her life. Effie was a great friend to her fellow residents and staff at the Hospice, which she loved and called home. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24th 2016. She was 83 years of age. She was predeceased by her parents, Tom and Martha; brothers Metro and Edward Oystreck; sisters, Mary Allin, Janice Krochak, and by her brother-in-law Lorne Krochak. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Lorraine Rudnitsky; her brother Michael Oystreck and his wife Diane (nee Hominchuk); brother-in-law, Bruce Allin; as well as several nieces, nephews, and her many other relatives and friends.
