Obituary of Brenda Gail Kitzul

KITZUL - Brenda Gail Kitzul (Shepherd) passed away at 57 years of age on July 14th, 2016 after a brief struggle with cancer. Brenda was born May 18th, 1959 in Clinton Ontario. She lived in New Brunswick, Alberta, Manitoba, and Regina where she met Rick. Brenda and Richard Kitzul were joined in marriage in 1989 and resided on their farm north of Ituna where they raised their children. Brenda was a very strong willed and beautiful person. She thoroughly enjoyed her most recent job as a school bus driver for PVSD. Brenda loved kids and especially enjoyed every moment with her three grandchildren, Shayan, Mykayla and Rhett. Her hobbies over the years included baking, cooking, walking, gardening and being outside or at the lake. She also loved to spoil her dog co-co. Predeceased by her parents, Garnett and Elizabeth Shepherd; her in-laws who were just like parents, John and Elizabeth Kitzul. Remaining to forever cherish her memory husband Richard; daughter Jennifer (Mark) Poloni; daughter Stacy (Michael) Hoffarth; son Brendon; her beloved three grandchildren: Shayan and Mykayla Hoffarth and Rhett Poloni. Also her siblings: Fran Markewich, Heather Shepherd (Tim), Andrea Torgerson, Tara Terry (Rosco), Andy (Edna) Shepherd, James (Gloria) Shepherd; numerous nephews, nieces and many other relatives and friends. Prayer services were held on Wednesday evening, July 20th, and the funeral service was held on Thursday morning, July 21st 2016, all from the Holy Ghost Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Ituna. Very Rev. Mel Slashinsky was the Celebrant. Cantor, Yvonne Panchuk, with assistance from choir members, led in the singing of the responses. The crossbearers were Shayan & Mykala Hoffarth, the bannerbearers were Kevin Torgerson & Bill Springinatic. Casketbearers were Tyler Kitzul, Kyle Kowalchuk, Calvin & Jason Torgerson, and Logan & Dillon Shepherd. Memorials in Brenda's name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 29 2nd Ave. N. Yorkton, SK S3N 1G1. Arrangements were entrusted to Bailey's Funeral Home.
