Obituary of Fred Boychuk

Fred Boychuk was born March 12, 1923 in the Stornoway district, a son of Pete and Mary (nee Panchuk) Boychuk. He was raised on the family farm and received his education at the Brandon Public School, north of Wroxton. He helped on the family farm while attending school to the age of 16 years. After that Fred rented land and worked as well as a labourer for numerous farmers. On July 11, 1948 Fred was united in marriage to Pauline Danyluk at Yorkton. They were blessed with four children. In 1965 the couple bought their first quarter of land and in 1966 they bought a second quarter which ended up being their home quarter. Fred had a great love for the farm and he also enjoyed playing baseball, curling and hunting in his younger years. Fred and Pauline lived on the farm until 1987 when they moved to make their home in Yorkton. Fred was able to live in their own home until a month before his passing. Fred entered eternal rest on May 11, 2016 at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home at the age of 93 years. He leaves to mourn his passing and to celebrate his life, his beloved wife Pauline; his sons, David (Charlene) of Regina, SK, Gerald (Margaret) of Kamsack, SK and Herbert of Sherwood Park, AB; his daughter Doreen (Randy) Prokopchuk of Yorkton, SK; two grandsons Colin and Justin Boychuk of Regina, SK; one great granddaughter Ja'Lynn Boychuk-Donald of Regina, SK; a sister Kay Malainey of Saskatoon, SK, as well as many nieces and nephews. Fred was predeceased by his father Pete; his mother Mary; brothers, Nick, Metro, William and Edward and by sisters, Anna Zacharuk, Martha Lacktin and Lena Achtymichuk.
