Obituary of Stephanie Danesewich

DANESEWICH - Stephanie Danesewich was born on November 9, 1923 in the Ituna district of Saskatchewan; a daughter of Anna (nee Novak) and Peter Hrycewich. She was raised on the farm and received her education at Beaverside School. On June 8, 1941 she married John Danesewich and together they farmed and raised four children, spending 54½ years together. In 1978 the couple retired from farming, and in 1979 moved to Yorkton. In 2001 Stephanie moved into the Clements Court, where she enjoyed helping others in a family like atmosphere. As her health declined she became a resident of the Yorkton & District Nursing Home. Stephanie passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 17th 2016 at her residence in Orkney House. She was 92 years of age. Stephanie was a very hard worker. Her home and garden were immaculate. Her motto was 'Do it right or not at all'. When young, we were inclined to think 'not at all'. However, that taught us many life lessons from which we still benefit. In her younger years, Stephanie loved to make perogies and cabbage rolls, head cheese, (best ones ever!!) She was always busy, cleaning, painting, redecorating with endless amounts of energy. In her later years, she enjoyed doing 'Search for Word', and a book to read was always on her lap. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren, always looking forward to their visits, phone calls and face time. Stephanie was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Anna; husband John; son John; and son-in-law, Walter Petrowsky.
