Obituary of Adeline Baluk

BALUK - Adeline Baluk, resident of the Yorkton & District Nursing Home, widow of the late Wally Baluk, passed away following a brief illness on Sunday, April 10th 2016. She was 83 years of age. Adeline Baluk was born on March 23rd, 1933 in the Hyas district of Saskatchewan; the oldest of three children born to Ann (nee Wilgosh) and Mike Bazowski. She was raised on the family farm northwest of Hyas. In 1948 she moved with her family to Norquay. In 1950 she was united in marriage to Wally Baluk at Norquay. In 1955 the couple moved from Norquay into Yorkton, where they had since resided. In Yorkton, Adeline kept busy with raising her two sons. As her family grew up, Adeline worked or a time as a seamstress & as a hairdresser in the city. As their age progressed and health began to decline, Wally & Adeline had become residents of the Yorkton & District Nursing Home. Wally predeceased Adeline on January 2, 2013. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, Mike and Ann; her son Alex; and a grandson, Jamie. She is survived by her son Dan Baluk and his wife Natalie of Edmonton; daughter-in-law, Susan Baluk of Yorkton; grandchildren: Kevin (Christine, Addison & Emily) of Edmonton; Jason Baluk (Karling, Brecklyn & Brynlee) of Yorkton; Don (Brenna & Brielle) of Yorkton; and Mark of Yorkton. Also two brothers: Dan (Vicky) Bazowski of Mississauga, ON; and Alex (Marge) Bazowski of Calgary; as well as nieces, nephews, and her many other relatives and friends. Prayers were held on Friday evening, April 15th 2016, and the funeral service was held on Saturday afternoon, April 16th 2016, all from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre. Very Rev. Bohdan Lukie C.Ss.R. officiated. Cantor, Lorne Stechyshyn, assisted by members of St. Mary's Parish Choir, led in the singing of the responses. The interment took place in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Don, Mark, Jason & Kevin Baluk, Mike Bazowski and Roman Wilgosh serving as the casketbearers.
