Obituary of Florence Grace Sprague

Florence Grace Sprague (Westgate) (Burchill) of Stony Plain, AB and formerly of Yorkton, beloved wife of the late Henry Sprague, passed away on July 25, 2022. She was living in Devon, AB. Florence is survived by daughter Sharon (Dale) McKeith of Ladysmith BC., sons Darren (Sandra) Burchill of Devon, AB and Daryl (Kim) Burchill of Mississauga, ON., step children; Len (Doris) Burchill of Strathmore, AB., Lauria (David) Niven of Vernon, BC and Laird (Marlene) Burchill of Camrose, AB., 14 grandchildren and step grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and step great grandchildren and by her older sister Mrs. Jessie Pears of White Rock, BC. Florence was born in Vancouver, BC. on January 8, 1937. At 16 years old she went to work in the Forest Department Store. First at the candy and ice cream counter, moving onto the men and ladies wear then to the accounting department. In 1961 she moved to Edmonton and worked at a dry cleaners. She moved to Calgary, AB. and worked at Woolworths. While living in Vancouver, BC., Florence had Sharon in 1963, Darren in 1965 and Daryl in 1966. They moved to Grande Prairie, AB. where Florence and Harold owned Western Moving Storage. Here she did estimates and packing and moving furniture. In 1972 she moved to Edmonton. In 1975 she worked in the office of King Moving, then went onto Tippet Richardson, then Townsend Moving. She moved to Kennedy, SK. and started a life with Hank. They then moved to Yorkton, SK. They enjoyed the lake trailer, fishing and horse shoes. She was a member of Legion Auxiliary #77, the Yorkton Horseshoe Club and the Heritage Club (crib) Yorkton. There will be no formal funeral. Florence will be buried in Yorkton in September beside her loving husband Hank. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity. “Mom is really missed.” Service Details.
