Obituary of Bob Graham

After a life well lived, Robert (Bob) Graham passed away peacefully at the Yorkton Hospital on July 24, 2022 at the age of 91 years with his loving family by his side. Bob was born on May 29, 1931 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to George and Phyllis Graham. He had one sister, Beverly Zakaluk. He recently attended her funeral on May 27, 2022 and enjoyed visiting with his three nephews Jeff, Graham and Robert as well as their families and other relatives. Bob grew up in Winnipeg, MB. When he was a young man he began working on road building and construction. A job opportunity took him to Virden, MB where he met Margaret Macpherson, a registered nurse. They were married in Brandon, MB on June 17, 1955 and settled in Virden. This is where David and Kathleen were born. Kelly was born in 1964 in Yorkton after Bob accepted a job offer managing Atlas Concrete Ltd for Matheson Bros Construction. Bob purchased Atlas Concrete in the early 1970’s and worked diligently until his retirement in 2000. Camping, hunting & fishing, swimming & water skiing, cross country and downhill skiing were among his outdoor passions. He enjoyed yearly downhill ski trips to the mountains. He had a zest for life, keeping himself busy and active right up to his last few years. In the early 1980’s he bought a Cessna Hawk XP, a high performance 172 airplane, which he flew to and around Mexico. He enjoyed woodworking, cribbage and duplicate bridge. He had a sharp mind, was interested in a variety of topics and was keen to engage in conversation. Bob is predeceased by his parents Phyllis and George Graham, sister Beverly Zakaluk and brother-in-law Bernie Zakaluk Winnipeg, MB; brother-in-law Ritchie & sister-in-law Madge Macpherson (Montreal); brother-in-law Robert & sister-in-law Mim Macpherson (Brandon); sister-in-law Lily & brother-in-law Gord Williamson (Regina); sister-in-law Mary & brother-in-law Don Persson (Dauphin); brother-in-law Don Ramstad (Sacred Heart Minnesota); sister-in-law Mary Macpherson (Brandon). Bob leaves to mourn and celebrate his life, wife of 67 years Margaret; eldest son David (Maureen) of Yorkton, granddaughter Lisa (Will) Jones and their daughter Olivia of Yorkton; grandson Robert and his daughter Izabella of Yorkton; daughter Kathleen (Brent) Weber of Madge Lake SK and granddaughters Brittany (Chris Terleski) of Coldstream BC and their four children Rylan, Kaden, Kieran and Kinley; Jennifer Long (Ryan) and their daughter Hayden of Kamloops, BC; Brooklyn (fiancé Mike Meaney) of Calgary, AB; youngest son Kelly and his son Geoff of Calgary, AB. .
