Harry Stachyshyn was born on February 5, 1931 in the Bedfordville district of Saskatchewan, which is now Ituna Bon Accord; the eighth child and seventh son of Walter and Nellie (nee Warsaba) Stachyshyn. Harry was raised on the family farm and enjoyed helping out with farming duties. Harry lived and worked on the farm with his brother Alex and sister in law Diane (nee Rawlyk) along with his niece Michele (predeceased in June 2013) his nephew Sheldon and Alexander. Harry loved to read and watch TV about Science, Mathematics and Physics. In his spare time he would go to auction sales, solve the Rubic's Cube and Sudoko.
