Obituary of Ann Ostapovich

OSTAPOVICH - It is with a heavy heart that we regretfully announce the passing of Ann Ostapovich (nee Koropatwa) on February 5th, 2016 at the Echo Lodge in Fort Qu'Appelle. She was 103 years of age.. Ann was born on the family farm near Insinger, SK on November 9, 1912. She married John Ostapovich in 1932 and worked on many farms in the area until they moved to Toronto where Emily was born. After a few years they returned and purchased a farm in the Insinger area and there Eugene was born. They farmed until 1966 when they sold the family farm and moved to Yorkton where Ann worked for Sacred Heart Academy in the kitchen and was an active member of the church. She was known to frequently attend Bingo and usually come home lucky. She was the one we all looked to when we needed some luck and encouragement. After John passed away she moved to Fisher Court and made many friends that would keep her playing cards and socializing most evenings. We will miss her smile, laugh, cooking and incredible strength and faith. In the last years of life she was well cared for at Harrison House Personal Care Home and at Echo Lodge Nursing Home in Fort Qu'Appelle, SK. The family wishes to extend a very special thanks to the staff of both homes for the care they provided her during her time there.
