Obituary of Joseph Wayne Rudniski

The family of Joseph Rudniski of Yorkton, sadly announce his passing on July 20, 2022. He was 35 years of age. Memorial donations may be made to an animal rescue or shelter as gifts of remembrance. Joseph Wayne Rudniski was born on July 20, 1987 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan to parents Kenneth and Leanne (Scherr) Rudniski. Joey grew up in Unity, SK except for a short period of time when he lived in Yorkton, SK. He attended Unity Composite High School where he was an Honor Roll student and graduated in 2005. He wore #28 for the Warriors Football Club. Joey lived in Melville and Fenwood and returned to live the rest of his life in Yorkton in 2014 after his beloved father, Kenneth died. Joey enrolled in the Bachelor of Social Work program at the Parkland Regional College where he completed two years. His cat Kitter, was his constant companion. On July 20, 2017, Joseph was united in marriage to Jessica Windigo-Hunter and soon became the proud father of Jerrilee Rudniski and step-dad to Tayven, who he loved and cherished with all his heart. Joseph also loved working in the hospitality industry doing food preparation and cooking. His goal was to become a chef and run his own kitchen. His family got to sample many of his inspiring dishes and some of the best fry bread around. He was a self-taught musician, self-taught chef, husband, father, uncle, brother, nephew and much more. Joseph came from a blended family and was recently reaching out to his extended family. Joseph was predeceased by his Uncle Allis Rudniski (1951), Grandfather Joseph Rudniski (1971), Aunty Shirley Lukinchuk(2001), Grandfather Mike Scherr (1999), Bubs Eileen Rudniski (2008), Father Kenneth Rudniski (2014) and Aunty Laverne Renneberg (2019). Remaining to keep his memory alive is his beloved daughter, Jerrilee Rudniski of Day Star First Nation and immediate family, Aunty Judy and Uncle Dennis Hughes who he lived a major part of his life with, cousin Karina Hughes (Devin), Mason and Micah. He is also survived by his mother Leanne Scherr and his half siblings, Stephanie, Jennifer and Garrison, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews from his family namesakes. He will also be missed by several of his extended and blended family members, friends and co-workers. The Memorial Service was held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Crystal Bailey as Celebrant. Karina Hughes gave the eulogy and Tamara Peepeetch shared a reading. Special music played was “Imagine” by John Lennon and “Blackbird” by The Beatles.The urn bearer was Ricky J. Renneberg.
