Obituary of Jean Bilokraly

BILOKRALY - Mrs. Jean Bilokraly of Yorkton passed away on January 31st, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. She was 78 years of age. Jean was born on February 15, 1936 near Dana, Saskatchewan; a daughter of Mike and Mary Kinal. She attended school in Dana and in 1954 attended the school for Psychiatric Nursing in Weyburn. In 1956 she met and married the love of her life, Orest Bilokraly. They started their life journey together and had four children before moving the entire family to Yorkton in 1966. Jean started working at the Yorkton Union Hospital in 1970 until she retired in 1993 after 40 years. Jean loved the outdoors. The family spent countless hours sitting around the camp fire. She loved to spend time with family and friends. She had a special place in her heart for all her grandchildren. Her face always lit up when she saw them. After she retired she spent countless hours in her garden. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Orest and her sister Helen Todoruk. She leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory, her four children, grandchildren & great grandchildren - Orville (Gail): Dawn (Curt & Takeshia), April (Hailey) and Dustin; Elisha (Aiden, Trysten & Lydia), Tye, Brian; Roger (Cindy): Roxanne, Samantha (Jared), Reg & Sid; and Michelle (Jim): Matthew (Kayla), Alex (Hailey). The Funeral Service was held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Father Methodius Kushko, C.Ss.R. of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church officiating. The responses were led by Ed Pindus and parish choir members. Musical selections, "I Believe" and "Whispering Hope" were included in the service. The interment took place in the Garden of St. Luke at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with the grandchildren, Matt, Samantha, Alex, Tye, David and Roxanne serving as the casket bearers .
