Obituary of Anne Premak

PREMAK - Anne (Zoocawich) Premak was born on April 7, 1922 in the Plainview District of Saskatchewan. She was the eldest of three daughters. Her parents, Fred and Mary Zoocawich, farmed nine miles west of Willowbrook, Saskatchewan. Anne attended Cherryfield School and helped her parents on the farm. On July 12, 1954 Anne was united in marriage to Peter Premak at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ituna, Saskatchewan. The couple farmed sixteen miles north of Ituna and were blessed with three children, Dennis, Patricia and Sandra. Anne enjoyed helping in the community with functions and celebrations in the Beckenham Parish. In 1986, Anne and Peter retired and moved into Ituna. Anne joined the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League and the Seniors Social Club. Anne was a gentle mom. She loved her family, family gatherings, visiting with neighbors attending weddings and dances. Anne enjoyed preparing traditional Ukrainian food including perogies and cabbage rolls as well found time to grow flowers, gardening, build puzzles and watch TV. In April 2009, Anne moved into the Ituna Pioneer Lodge due to failing health where she resided until entering her eternal rest on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the age of 93 years. Predeceased by her husband Peter October 1993; parents, Fred and Mary Zoocawich; in-laws, Joe (Anne) Premak; John, Walter, Mike, Paul; sisters, Mary (Alex) Kresowaty, Anne (John) Grebinski, Olga (George) Ripco and Rose (Stanley) Smysniuk; brothers-in-law, Bill Spilchuk, George DybaczSteve Hadewich and sister-in-law, Evelyn Premak; nephews, Gerald Grebinski and Julian Kresowaty. Anne leaves to cherish her memory her three children, son, Dennis (Elizabeth) Premak and their children, Daphne and Liam of Ituna; daughter, Patricia (Charles) Goertz and their children, Matthew and Madison of Saskatoon, Samantha (Joseph) great granddaughter Jasmine; daughter, Sandra (Blake) Braybrook and their children, Riley, Jaimie and Alyssa of Cold Lake, AB; sisters, Kay (Bill) Chaney of St. Albert, AB and Rose Hadewich of St. Albert, AB; in-laws, Sophie Spilchuk, Kathy (Bob) Glassford, Pauline (Ken) Brozer, Steve (Joanne) Premak, Ted Premak, Mary Premak and Jean Dybacz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Prayer services were held on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. from Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ituna, Saskatchewan. Requiem Divine Liturgy was celebrated on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church with Very Rev. Fr. Peter Pidskalny C.Ss.R. as the Celebant. Liz Premak read the epistle and the crossbearers were Matthew Goertz and Liam Premak. Madison Goertz and Daphne Premak attended the memorial book. Everyone who knew and loved Anne were considered as honorary bearers. The Interment followed in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery with Ernie Spilchuk, Eugene Kresowaty, Blake Braybrook, Charles Goertz, Ray Wenc and Alex Baranesky as the casket bearers.
