Obituary of Olha Smith

The family of Olha Smith of Ituna sadly announce her passing on Monday, July 18, 2022. She was 93 years of age. The Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, July 23 at 10:30a.m. from St. Stanislaus R.C. Church, Ituna. The interment will follow in St. Demetrius Parish Cemetery/Holar. Memorials may be made to St. Demeterius Parish Cemetery as gifts of remembrance. Olha Smith was the third child born to Michael Lewchyshyn and Eva Bzdel on September 30, 1928. The family lived in the Elfros district area. She passed away on July 18, 2022 in Ituna, Saskatchewan at the age of 93 years. Olha attended Lily White School, a country school, until grade 8. After grade 8, she attended Sacred Heart Academy until she completed her studies. Eventually she became a Certified Nursing Assistant. She loved her work. On July 11, 1960 she married Allan Smith. They had three children, Llana, Lawrence and Lemont. Olha is survived by 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Mary Lewchyshyn, brother Bill Lewchyshyn and brother-in-law Albert Dolhun. In addition, Olha was predeceased by her parents, sisters Anne (Bill Hopko), Jean (Stan Dobranski), Sophie (Nestor Charanduk) and Ceina Dolhun. Olha was also predeceased by her bothers Nick (Julia Dobranski) and Joseph Lewchyshyn. Olha was a loving, caring, fun-loving and jovial person who always had a mischievous twinkle in her eye. May she rest in peace and may her memory be a blessing. Service Details.
