WESSING - Frances Wessing, late of the Parkerview district passed away on September 14, 2015 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. She was 75 years of age. Frances Grace Wessing (Young) was born on August 29, 1940 to Vernon & Mathilda Young, the oldest of twelve children. She was raised and lived on a farm all her life in the Parkerview district, except for two years when she lived in Yorkton. She left school at an early age to help raise her siblings. She was given the nickname 'Hansey', and was still called that name to this day. She was united in marriage to Joe Wessing in 1958 and was blessed with a son Wayne and a daughter Isabel. Her grandchildren, David & Sandra were her pride and joy. She would do anything for them and spoiled them rotten. Several years ago Ashton came into our lives and she made her one of ours. She loved all three equally. She loved kids, the more she had around, the merrier. She was called Granny or Grandma by most. She usually had a treat for all of them and spoiled them. She decorated for all the holidays, but by far her most favorite was Christmas, with decorations and lights everywhere. And her baking, it was OMG good. Frances loved to garden, she grew enough to feed the whole RM. Her passion was her flowers, she would spend hours attending to them. This year she got her large flower bed and it was full. There wasn't room for another plant. Her home was always open to visits from family and friends, whether it be a cup of coffee, a visit, or a place to stay. She enjoyed the company of others and the coffee pot was always on. She also loved to be in the pasture, tending to the cattle, whether it was feeding them or vaccination time. Frances had a great love of Ukrainian music. She listened to the Old Time Dance Party on CJGX radio every Saturday evening. She was not happy if a football or hockey game was on that night. Her favorite Ukrainian music CD's were constantly on at home. Predeceased by her husband Joe; son Wayne; son-in-law, Ray; brothers: Gordon, Ralph and Rodney; and by sisters: Mary (infancy), Pearl, Dorothy & Rose. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Isabel Senga of Parkerview; grandchildren: David Senga of Saskatoon and Sandra Senga of Saskatoon; Ashton Currie of Holdfast; two brothers: Floyd (Lorraine) Young of Regina, Richard (Marilyn) Young of Regina; three sisters: Phyllis Zastrisny of Sheho, Hazel LeBlanc of Moose Jaw, and Rita Young of Melville; numerous nieces, nephews, and her many other relatives and friends. The funeral service was held on Friday, September 18, 2015 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Crystal Bailey, B.Th officiating. Hymns played were The Old Rugged Cross, Amazing Grace and In the Garden. Granddaughter Sandra gave the family tribute. The interment took place in the Theodore Town Cemetery with Sheldon Moldowan, Kelly Young, Willie Zuchkan, Jim Young, Gord Snyder and Ben Meszaros serving as the casketbearers.
