A memorial folder from the funeral service may be printed under the "Memories" tab, then choose "Memorial Program". HAMILTON - It is with extremely heavy hearts we announce the passing of Faye B. Hamilton (nee McLeod) on September 11, 2015. She was our beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and auntie. She left this world with great courage and grace following a brief but fierce battle with cancer. Faye was the first born child of Bernard McLeod and Rose Hickie in 1950 at Melville, Saskatchewan. As a child she loved school and was extremely bright….she was a natural academically. Her fondest memories were with her best friend and cousin Sandra Jergens with whom she stayed in contact with over the years. She also had fond memories growing up by the train station in Melville where she would watch them come and go. Faye grew to be a beautiful young lady. She always carried herself with pride and dignity. She was authentic in her love and loyalty and never deviated from what she felt was right. She welcomed meaningful conversation over a pot or two of coffee. In 1968 she married Robert Hamilton and they had 3 children, Roberta, Amanda and Thomas. As a mother she was protective and gentle and her love unconditional. She was always a nurturer, something that came naturally. During her working life she worked at the Yorkton Union Hospital for 10 years. Later she moved to Saskatoon where she was employed by Sask Power. She then went on to obtain her realtor's license and joined Century 21. Some years later she decided to follow her passion and went back to College and became a certified Special Care Aide and returned home to Yorkton. In 2007 she purchased the care facility where she was employed and operated it until this year. She chose the name "Porchlight" Care Home as a symbol to help guide our loved ones home. This was Faye's proudest achievement and she truly poured her heart and soul into the care of the residents and staff which she considered family. She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory, her mother Rose Westberg; daughters, Roberta Hamilton and Amanda (Jordan) Howe; son Thomas Hamilton; six grandchildren which she absolutely adored, Jayda & Sydney Morin, Madilyn, Hanna and Joshua Howe and Holly Hamilton; sister Laura Westberg, brothers Mark Westberg and Scott McLeod, along with many nephews and nieces and lifelong friends. Faye was predeceased by her father Bernard McLeod and dear sister Gail Westberg-Jones. The Funeral Service was held on Friday, September 18, 2015 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Crystal Bailey, Certified Celebrant officiating. A prayer was conveyed by Brett Strutynski. Tributes were shared by family members. Musical Selections included in the service were "Time in a Bottle", "Whiter Shade of Pale" and "I Know You're Out There Somewhere". The inurnment took place in the Garden of Memories Columbarium at Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Jordan Howe serving as the urn bearer.
