Obituary of Nicolas "Nick" Kuliasa

KULIASA - Mr. Nick Kuliasa, formerly of Yorkton entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Points West Living Retirement Home in Wainwright, Alberta. Nick passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 94. Nicolas (Nick) Kuliasa was born on December 11, 1920 on the farm, north of Goodeve, Saskatchewan to Andrew & Mary (Fil). On October 23, 1949 Nick was united in marriage to Jennie Borys. Nick leaves to cherish his memory five children; son Don (Lynda) of Battleford, Saskatchewan; son Dennis (Bharti) of Drayton Valley, Alberta; daughter Valerie (Patrick) Moroz of Wainwright, Alberta; daughter Wanda (Don) Andrychuk of Orillia, Ontario; son Ken (Colleen) of Nanaimo, British Columbia. Seven grandchildren; Ken Kuliasa, Wendy (John) Roche, Jevon (Angela Langford) Andrychuk, Carlene (Kevin) Anderson, Joshua Kuliasa, Andrea & Brock Moroz. Nine great grandchildren; Dominick & Jacob Kuliasa, John Jr. & Alissa Roche, Jake, Paige, Jaida, Whitney & Mason Anderson. Siblings; sister Anne Dobko, Marie (Jean-Guy) LaBerge, brother Mike (Elma) Kuliasa. Predeceased by his wife Jennie February 10, 2003 and also by his parents & four brothers (Alex, Sam, John & Peter). The Funeral Service was held on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Very Rev. Father Bohdan Lukie, C.Ss.R. of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church officiating. The responses were led by Peter Moroz and Parish Choir members. The epistle reader was Bharti Kuliasa. Serving as cross bearers were Wendy Roche, Carlene Anderson, Andrea Moroz. The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Ken Kuliasa, Jevon Andrychuk, Joshua Kuliasa, Brock Moroz, Dominick Kuliasa and John Roche Jr. serving as the casket bearers.
