Obituary of Adella Byblow

BYBLOW - Adella Byblow of Yorkton entered eternal life on July 15, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Home in Melville just 12 days short of her 83rd year. Adella was born on July 27, 1932 at Sheho, Saskatchewan, a daughter of Wasyl and Anna (nee Spelay) Byblow. She attended Deer Creek Country School for 10 years and when the family moved to Yorkton she completed her education at Sacred Heart High School. She was employed at several businesses in Yorkton before resigning to be a caregiver for her mother. Adella loved to travel to places in BC and Ontario to visit with family. Her Church and gardening were her passions. She enjoyed working at St. Mary's Hall and being active with the Parish Choir and the Ukrainian Women's League as long as she was able to. She kept herself busy with embroidery and cross-stitching pictures and dresser scarfs. She took great pride in her garden and talking with her rose bushes. She often said that's why they bloomed so much and produced such big blossoms. Feeding the birds was a year round event and she had regular visits from Blue Jays and one special humming bird. Family and friends meant the world to Adella. Calls and visits to and from them always made her happy and excited. She was a kind, gentle, forgiving and loving person and will be missed by all who knew her. Adella leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Pearl Baronasky and Bella Bilan; a brother Morris Byblow; sister-in-law Mary Byblow and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; sisters Katie (Anton) Haas, Mary (Mike) Fransishyn, Pauline (Harry) Corroll and Donna Byblow; brothers John, Peter and Metro (Agnes) Byblow and brother-in-law Max Bilan. A Prayer Service was held on Sunday, July 19, 2015. The Holy Rosary led by members of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League preceded the prayers. The Funeral Liturgy was celebrated on Monday, July 19, 2015 at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Yorkton with Rev. Father Ray Lukie, C.Ss.R. as the Celebrant. The responses were led by Ed Pindus & St. Mary's Choir members. The cross bearer was Robert Byblow and the epistle reader was Iris Cannon. Reflections of Adella's life were shared by Sylvia Ketler. The interment followed in the Yorkton City Cemetery with Dennis Baronesky, Jason Tratch, Bob Fahy, Ken Baker, Michael Callan and Peter Kobylka serving as the casket bearers.
