Obituary of Elizabeth Kernovich

KEROVICH - Elizabeth Kernovich, longtime Yorkton resident passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre following a brief illness. She was 89 years of age. Elizabeth was born on August 3, 1925 in the Pelly district of Saskatchewan; a daughter of george and Annie (nee Mitten) Konkin. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in the district. As a young woman Elizabeth was married to Mike kernovich. The couple lived in Yorkton, where they raised their family. Elizabeth eventually began working, and for several years was employed firstly at a local restaurant, and then for the Saan Store. Following her retirement she continued to reside in Yorkton, her favorite pastimes were knitting and crocheting. She In her younger years she enjoyed dancing and socializing with her many friends. She also enjoyed the company that her many pets had given her throughout the years. Predeceased by her parents, her husband Mike, her son Edward, and by her brothers and sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Irene of Yorkton and her family; and her son Gordon of Yorkton. Also numerous nieces, nephews, and her many other relatives and friends. The graveside service took place on Tuesday, May 19th 2015 from the Garden of St. Mark at the Yorkton Memorial Gardens with Fr. Frances Hengen of St. Gerard's Roman Catholic Church officiating.
