Obituary of Raymond Lawrence Kuzek

KUZEK - Raymond Lawrence Kuzek was born on July 23, 1950 to Bill and Mary Kuzek of Theodore. Raised on the family farm he went to school first at Chernowetz, then Theodore. Raymond began his working career at a very early age as a carpenter with Magus Construction in Yorkton, Sask Wheat Pool building elevators, the Wells construction in Saskatoon, then later in life with Anaka Construction in Melville and Ferrcon Homes in Yorkton, then RLK Construction on his own. Raymond married Karen Williams in 1971, and the 2 were blessed with 3 beautiful children, Lawrence, Kevin and Chelsie. Raymond loved the farm and so moved back to the family farm in 1975 and built a new home. He farmed with his brothers until 1980. It wasn't long before Raymond found a way to spend a great deal more of his time doing something else he loved. He became a hunting guide at Walter's Wilderness camp in Carrot River, thus experiencing the thrill of the hunt over an extended period of time. Along with Karen, they bought the gas station in Theodore and ran a gas bar and coffee shop till it sold. Raymond was an avid fisherman, with many stories to tell with all his fishing buddies. One of his latest adventures was plans to restore a few antique cars. Raymond was predeceased by his father Bill Kuzek, brother Dennis Kuzek, mother and father in-law Norman and Loretta Williams. He leaves to mourn his passing and celebrate his living, his wife Karen, his children Lawrence (Anita) Kuzek of Blackfoot, Alberta, Kevin (Trina) Kuzek of Atwater, Saskatchewan, Chelsie (Jamie) Schneider of Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Grandchildren Brett Kuzek, Karysma Schneider, Jayden Kuzek, Trinity Schneider, Brenden Kuzek, Jazzlynn Schneider, Ashley Kuzek and Asher Kuzek, his mother Mary Kuzek of Theodore and brother Randy (Iris) Kuzek of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, Valerie Kuzek (Rick) of Theodore, Saskatchewan. Along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 21st 2015 from the Yorkton Memorial Gardens Family Centre with Rev. Steve Wilson officiating. Son Lawrence and grandson Brenden gave the eulogy. Organist, Carla Madsen led members of the combined Church Choirs and the congregation in the singing of the processional 'Come In, Come In and Sit Down' and the hymn 'In the Bulb There is a Flower'. The choir sang 'I Was There to Hear Your Borning Cry' as their anthem and the recessional hymn was 'Go Now in Peace'. The interment took place in the Garden of Memories with son Kevin as the urnbearer. Memorials in Ray's name may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
